Best Area to Stay in Seminyak: Petitenget vs Oberoi vs Eat Street vs Double Six

Seminyak is small enough to walk across in 30 minutes, but each pocket of it has a very different vibe. Picking the right sub-area for your villa makes a huge difference for what your trip actually feels like.

Petitenget — Quiet Luxury

Petitenget is the upscale northern pocket. The streets are tree-lined, the villas are the most coveted in Bali, and the beach clubs (Potato Head, La Plancha, Ku De Ta) are at the doorstep. The vibe is sophisticated and slower than other Seminyak areas.

Pick Petitenget if: you want quiet streets at night, you are on honeymoon, you are renting a 4BR luxury villa.

Oberoi (Kayu Aya) — Luxury and Shopping

Locally still called The Oberoi after the famous hotel, this is the heart of Seminyak. Boutiques line Jalan Kayu Aya. Some of Bali's most awarded restaurants are here. Walking distance to Seminyak Beach center.

Pick Oberoi if: you love boutique shopping, you want fine dining within 5 minutes walk, you are a couple in a 1-2BR villa.

Eat Street (Kayu Cendana) — For Foodies

The highest density of restaurants per square meter anywhere in Bali. Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Thai, French, vegan, healthy, indulgent — every cuisine. Walking distance to Seminyak Beach.

Pick Eat Street if: you want to walk to dinner every night, you are with a group of friends, you are picky about food.

Double Six — Value and Nightlife

Southern Seminyak, on the border with Legian. Famous Double Six Beach with sunset beach clubs (Mrs Sippy, La Favela). More affordable villa pricing than Petitenget without sacrificing the Seminyak postcode.

Pick Double Six if: you want maximum value, you love nightlife, you want to be at the beach 5 minutes from your villa.
